HB 1101 Providing for tenant screening in common interest communities.
Summary
- Allow an association that a property (Appartement, House, Unit) belongs to require a tenant screening were the owner/landlord intends to lease the property/apartment at the owner’s sole expense prior to entering into a lease agreement within a prospective tenant. Example of an Association this would apply to is an HOA.
- Association may require proof on the tenant screening requirement has been fulfilled.
- Association may not require that a copy of the tenant screening report or any background information be furnished to the association.
